Lake Academic Boosters (LAB) recognizes students for exemplary academic performance. Lake students in grades 4 - 12 are recognized in a variety of ways during school recognition programs.
LAB expanded its role of supporting Lake scholars by issuing scholarships to Lake High School students initially during the 2011 - 12 school year. During the 2013 - 14 school year, LAB also assumed leadership of the Lake Scholarship Fund (formerly operating under auspices of Scholarship America and the Dollars for Scholars Program.)
Through the years the number of students recognized and the amount of scholarship dollars awarded by LAB has continually increased.
During the spring of 2018, we recognized more than 1,000 Lake students for academic excellence, and nearly $20,000 in scholarships was raised for our graduating Lake High School Seniors using merit and economic need-based criteria. LAB solicits financial support for these scholarships from community members, local business members, parents, and Lake staff members each school year.
In addition, LAB, in partnership with Lake Local Schools, now awards district grants to encourage and reward innovation and efficiency in district programs and processes, as suggested by Lake Local staff member.
