Substance Abuse-Alcohol
During the past month (30 days), 26.4% of underage persons (ages 12-20) used alcohol, and binge drinking among the same age group was 17.4%.

Among youth who are 12 to 17 years old, 7.7 percent reported past-year nonmedical use of prescription medications.  According to the 2010 Monitoring the Future survey, prescription and over-the-counter drugs are among the most commonly abused drugs by 12 graders, after alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco.  Youth who abuse prescription medications are also likely to report use of other drugs.

According to a study by the National Institutes of Health, many children in grades 6 through 10 have either bullied classmates or been bullied by them, sometimes online or through cell phones. The study revealed that 53.6 percent were victims of verbal bullying, 51.4 percent of relational bullying, and 13.6 percent of "cyber-bullying" on a computer, cell phone, or other electronic device.
