The meeting was called to order at: 10:00am.
No corrections or additions

Treasurer: Jessica Swartz:
o PTO
was able to give $13,000 to the school last year, and another $5,000 to support
the Bond Issue.
o Santa’s
Shop is negative because they have begun purchasing items for next year instead
of using a company again.

Corresponding Secretary: Angie Linsky: (Angie
will be running late, so updates were given by Mr. Kandel.)
o Miss
Smith got married. She is now Mrs. McClary.
o Mrs.
Nalepa had her baby at the end of the school year. It is a boy!
o Ms.
Dubinski is now Mrs. Deckerd
o Willy’s
father passed away.

Birthday Memorial: Mandi Stephenson:
o Mandi
hasn’t spoke with Lindsay yet.
o She
will meet with Mrs. Beachy after the PTO meeting.

open if anyone would like to make the commitment.

in April, worked well last year after it had to be rescheduled due to snow day.

own machine, will not work with Lake Elem.

use lemonade to make snow cones. Sno Kones will be served in the afternoon.
o Michelle
will talk with teachers to see if they would rather pick up or have the sno
kones brought to the classrooms. Mrs. Dills said it would probably be better to
deliver.
o Teachers
will deliver popcorn money to the teacher lounge. Popcorn will remain at $.25
and sno kones will be free.

Publicity: Mary Pastore
o Mary
Pastore will take over this position.

Rebate: Billy Joe Muckley:
o Third
grade will continue to cut Box Tops/Campbell’s.
o Gary
purchased playground balls will the remaining money from Apples for Students.

Room Parents: Joanna Miller:

will be the chairperson. Jenny went over the information with her.

Santa’s Breakfast: Lindsay Anderson:

o Haven’t
talked to store yet.

like to have samples prepared for Room Parent Tea, like last year and use the
Display in the Rotunda.

Santa’s Shop: Cindy Kandel and Erica Rhodes
o Bought
stuff at Flower Factory (a ball last year cost $2.50 at Great Western, cost
$1.00 at Flower Factory)
o Looking
for Dad Stuff. Jessica suggested saving 20% off coupons at Harbor Freight out
of Coupon Section and Parade, use to buy dad stuff.

Schwan’s: Shannon Miller:
o Would
like to have teachers send out reminders in their newsletters, emails to let
parents know when the sale dates are, as well.
o Mr.
Kandel will be able to send mass emails to parents, but does not want to send
emails out too often. Email Mr. Kandel when there is a reminder to go out.

Scholarship: Mandi Stephenson:
o Thank
you note from recipient.

Special Services: OPEN:
o School
district now has a school nurse. No longer have to organize vision screening.

Yearbook: Angie Linsky and Michelle Fedor:
o Will
pick out cover in October.
o Kimberly’s
sister sent a Thank you note for the Tribute to Mrs. Bosko.

Teacher Representatives: Melissa Dills
o Office
and Lounge looks nice.
o Thank
you to volunteers who will be helping with KRA-L, the first day of school for
Kindergarteners, and 1st day of lunch for Kindergarteners.

New Business:
o We
raised $1,164 for the American Cancer Society.
o Four
Square touched up and hopscotch has been added.
o Pricing
for new swings. Will see if Lake Elementary will split the cost.

Principal: Gary Kandel:
o Gary’s
uncle donated a bench and pot outside of the school in memory of Mrs. Bosko. Pat Randolph and Cindy Mullen planted flowers. Mrs. Bosko’s sister also sent a thank you note.
o Gary
would like to take a staff photo at the bench to send to Kimberly’s family and
to Gary’s uncle.
o Gary
discussed the time change. The YMCA program will be available to students who
need before school care. School doors will open at 8:20 for cafeteria
supervision. Tardy Bell will ring at 8:45. Buses will let out at 8:35. This
schedule change will give the teachers time in the morning to meet together for
collaboration time. This change was necessary to accommodate the staff who
retired. 12 staff retired, only 4 replaced.
o The
2.3 mil Bond Issue will be on the ballot again. It will be the same plan as
last time. 65% paid by the state. This is not Tax $$, it is Tobacco Settlement money.
They will give specific information this time about how much it costs to run
Hartville Elementary. Encourage parents to come to PTO meeting to get info on
the Bond Issue.
