ADVANCED PLACEMENT OPTION:
For the student who desires to take a college-level class at Lake High School, advanced placement classes in English, calculus, physics, chemistry, American history, European history, economics, art history and computer science are offered. Students enrolled in advanced placement classes are expected to take the national advanced placement examination in May. Examination fees are paid by the student. A college may use the results of this exam to award college credit. Sufficient enrollment is required for these courses to be offered.
DUAL ENROLLMENT OPTION:
The Dual Enrollment Options Program provides qualified students an opportunity to take college courses at Lake High School. This program is in conjunction with Kent State University Stark Campus and Stark State College of Technology. Courses are taught by Lake High School faculty approved by the college/university. Students participating in dual enrollment courses will be required to take the college/university semester and/or final exam. Students must also attend the mandatory meeting mentioned below

POST-SECONDARY OPTION:
The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program has been established for high school students in grades nine through twelve. This program permits students to earn college and high school graduation credit by the successful completion of college courses. All students meeting eligibility requirements may enroll at a public or private college or degree-granting technical school, on a part or full-time basis. If a student is interested in this option, the State of Ohio requires the student and their parent(s) to attend a mandatory meeting which is typically held after January 1st. By March 30th each year, students must inform Lake High School of their intention to enroll for the following year. Even though we encourage our students to challenge themselves academically, all students need to keep in mind that this option may preclude them from taking some classes that are available at Lake High School due to scheduling conflict.
