Class of 1967 Lake Alumni Donate Bench to School District
The Lake High School graduating class of 1967 recently donated a bench to Lake Local Schools for future use within the district.  Several members from this class were on hand for a brief dedication ceremony April 25, 2018.
Measuring 8 feet in length and made of a gray polymer all weather material, the bench includes the text “A gift to Lake Local Schools and Community from the LHS Class of 1967” inscribed across the top panel of the back rest.   The classmates purchased the bench from Kids World Play Systems in Hartville, using funds remaining from their 50th class reunion held last August.

“We hope people from the district and community will appreciate it,” said Jim Millard, one of the 1967 alumni involved with making the donation.  Others present included Jerry August, Larry Robenstine, Sandi (Wymer) Costill, and Mike Downerd.

“We also challenge other classes from Lake to make similar gestures to support the school district,” said Millard.

Facility Project Manager John McAllister thanked the alumni for their generous gift, and said it will be put to good use, perhaps in one of the new outdoor learning spaces planned outside of the new Lake Elementary building, or outside the Lake Middle/High School.
