Breaking Barriers - Hope is Alive will Benefit from Repository's Upcoming Golf Classic
Lake residents Travis and Shelly Bornstein's nonprofit, Breaking Barriers - Hope is Alive, has been chosen as the beneficiary to receive funds from the Canton Repository's upcoming annual Pay It Forward Golf Classic set for August 13, 2017.

The local couple created the organization to help combat the statewide opioid epidemic after the passing in 2014 of their son, Tyler, a 2009 Lake High School graduate, from a heroin overdose.  (In addition, Breaking Barriers also specifically remembers the lives of Zach Warner and Tyler Westbury, who, along with Tyler, were graduates of Lake HIgh School, Uniontown residents, and lost their lives due to drug addiction.)

Funds raised from the Repository's Golf Classic will help pay for a much needed, comprehensive drug treatment facility envisioned by the nonprofit.  The planned new facility will include treatment, residential living spaces, and after-care all on one site - a unique, forward thinking concept.

The Pay It Forward Golf Classic will be held at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Course on the Dales Course.

The Bornsteins hope community and business leaders, parents, and golfers will all come together to support their cause.
