Attend Veterans Day Celebration at Lake High School
Lake High School will host its annual, popular Veterans Day Celebration including live music presented by students, a special guest speaker, and more Friday, Nov. 9, 2018.

This year’s ceremony will fall close to the ending date of World War I 100 years ago: Nov. 11, 1918.

This moving ceremony will honor those that have fought for our country and freedoms.  Please mark your calendars to join us, and help pay tribute to those men and women that have bravely served our nation.  All veterans and their families are invited to attend.

A book is donated annually by Lake High School to the Lake High School library in honor of Veterans Day.   This year’s selected book, soon to be available to students, is entitled The Forgotten 500, by Gregory A. Freeman.  It tells the untold story of men who risked all for a great rescue mission during World War II.

An informal morning reception for all veterans will be staged prior to the ceremony in the Lake High School cafeteria.  Doors will open at 7:45 a.m.

The ceremony, including speakers and music, will follow from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.     Please enter Door 7 off Market Avenue by the Lake Community Library or Door 5 by the Lake Community YMCA.     You do not need to RSVP for this event.
