Four Lake Students Earn GenYes Certification
These four young men are among a select group of students from across the nation to achieve this certification.

GenYes is a program that prepares powerful teams of Student Technology Leaders (STLs) in K-12 schools to work with educators, peers and IT staff to integrate technology in ways that improve student learning.

To become certified, Barrett, Jaron, Trey, and Aidan completed a number of tasks including technology integration, break-fix computer issues, and much more. These issues involved assisting Lake staff and students, working on various teams involving other GenYes students, and helping at least 10 different teachers.

They also interviewed with a panel of GenYes employees, including CEO Dennis Harper, to become certified.
GenYes certification demonstrates that a student has successfully applied technology skills they have developed both in the classroom, and by helping their school effectively integrate technology.

“I am so proud and excited for these young men. They have all worked so hard and are the best and brightest Lake High School has to offer.  I am truly blessed to work with students of their caliber on a daily basis,” said GenYes instructor Frank Pilato.
