Congratulations go out to senior art student Alexis Greer-Armentrout! This weekend her graphite drawings made it through the Regional level of the Governor's Art Awards, and will be judged at the State level next Saturday. The Governor's Art Awards provide scholarship opportunities, and the work is hung in the Ohio Governor's Office and at the Department of Education in Columbus, Ohio.

 Attention NHS students. Positive Impact has been changed from Wednesday to Thursday due to Late start. Please use the Google Doc to sign up. You can find the link on the NHS Canvas Calendar.

SUMMER PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM The 2018 summer physical education program registration forms are available in the Counseling Office. The program fee is $140. The registration deadline is May 4, 2018.

Make sure you stop by the table tomorrow in the cafeteria hallway & pick up your Suicide Awareness ribbon in support of Lake High School’s Awareness & Kindness Week.

Congratulations to the Speech and Debate team on their strong showing at states this weekend. Emma Heakin placed 49th in the state in Dramatic Interpretation. Grace Weisel placed 39th in the state in Program Oral Interpretation. Juliana Fierro and Caleb Adams placed 65th and 82nd, respectively, in the state in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Please congratulate those team members on a great season. Go Streaks!

The Lake Boys Basketball team won the sectional on Saturday evening defeating Dover 54-42. A total team effort on defense and excellent rebounding propelled the team to victory. Leading the team in scoring were Jake Maranville with 16, Jeremy Brady 13, and Mike Spotleson with 10 points. The team travels to the Canton Civic Center on Thursday to play McKinley in the District Semi-Finals @7:00.

Just a reminder to students and parents that the deadline for students to turn in their “Blue CCP Folders” is Friday, March 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon.   If you have not picked up a “Blue CCP Folder”, they are available in the Counseling Office. NO LATE FOLDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.   If you have questions, need help or your folder is ready to turn in sign up to see your counselor on the following google form—Don’t wait!!!

Are you artistic? Looking for a way to show off your skill to the community, but in need of inspiration? Or are you just generally interested in art? Community Creatives is an opportunity for Lake High School students to display their talent while also drawing attention to the finer details of Lake. Paint, draw, photograph, or create something to present your craft, while also having an opportunity to win prizes. The show will be March 28th, from 6-8. Come out March 17th to the Color Run sponsored by students in the Health Tech Program. Tickets will be $15 if you want a t-shirt and $10 if you do not want a t-shirt. There will be snacks, music, raffle baskets, and a photo booth. Any question contact: Jessica Lostoski, Courtney Kirven, Haley Rhodes, or Larissa Jarka.

The Annual Bill’s Rock Em Races, a special needs track and field event, will be held on March 22nd, 2018 in the LHS Gymnasium. The event will run from 6 PM to 8 PM. We are in need of volunteers to be buddies, decorators, cleanup crew and to run games. If you are not comfortable with volunteering, we will also need the bleachers full of people there to cheer on the participants.
