Welcome to Mrs. Deckerd's Music Classes!
I am so excited to be teaching for my fifth year here at Lake! You can find me at Lake and Hartville Elementary.
I look forward to all of the opportunities this year has to bring. My goal is to use music to foster a love of the arts in my students, making them more confident with themselves and excited about learning. I hope to help them make connections with music outside of my classroom, teach them the basic skills, and also have fun learning!

A little about me:
I graduated from Southeast High School in 2003, Mount Union College in 2007 with a Bachelors in Music Education, and Walden University in 2011 with a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
I also just got married this summer! I am very excited about this new chapter in my life.
When I'm not at school you can find me taking pictures, exercising, watching movies, singing with the radio, or spending time with my family and friends.
My favorite genres of music are Country and Christian. Some of my favorite performing groups are Toby Mac, Casting Crowns, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, and Straight No Chaser.
