Weekly Assignments for the Week of 10/10/11

The students have been working diligently to complete their "Big Mac Noun Attack" paragraphs. We have spent a tremendous amount of time revising, discussing ways to alter and/or correct and rewrite topic sentences and closings. In addition, we have also been discussing ways to vary sentence beginnings and changing linking verbs to action verbs. The student will now choose one of these paragraphs to take to final copy. I have encouraged them to spend some time this weekend deciding which paragraph will ensure they receive a fabulous grade. They should start to make their revisions and come with questions on Monday. We will have a question and answer time in class to aid them in thei revisions they are stuck on. The typed Second Draft of the chosen paragraph is due Tuesday, Oct. 11.

We will edit in class on Tuesday in preparation for the completion of the final copy. In addition to making final corrections and printing off a final copy the students will be building a sandwhich to put in the background of their final copy. The students will be given time in class to begin this process, but they will need to complete it on their own. The Final Copy of this project will be due: Thursday, Oct. 13
