Weekly News

​A representative from the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank will be here this Thursday to speak with the students.  We are collecting nonperishable food items this week to donate to the Food Bank.  If you would like to donate items, please send them in by this Thursday, May 24th.

Students will not have school next Monday, May 28th, in observance of Memorial Day.  Enjoy the long weekend!

Please have your child bring in a beach towel this Friday, May 25th.  Students will be eating outside for the Principal's Cookout and will need a towel to sit on during lunch.  Thanks!

We are beginning to wrap up the school year.  All testing will be completed by this Friday, May 25th.  Pinnacle reports will be sent home with your child on the last day of school.  The last day of school is Thursday, May 31st.

Weekly News

Second grade students will be traveling to the Lake Performing Arts Hall this Thursday, May 17th, to see the Middle School play called "Cinderalla Kids."

This week is cancer awareness week at Uniontown.  We are collecting loose change all week for the Coins for A Cure Challenge.  Students will participate in a mini Relay for Life Friday afternoon.  Other activities include bringing a healthy snack to school on Tuesday, wearing sunglasses on Thursday to "shade out" cancer and wearing a hat to school on Friday.

Weekly News

​Interim reports will be sent home this Friday, April 27th.  Reports will only be sent if there is a behavior or academic concern.

Tyler Boiarski, from the Uniontown Fire Department, will be in our classroom this Thursday to read to the students.  Tyler visits our classroom once a month to read with the students or to help out with different activities.  We look forward to his visit.

Weekly News

​We wrapped up Right to Read Week last week with an end of the week celebration.  The school total for books read was over 8,000!!  Fantastic job!!

We will be traveling to the Lake Performing Arts Hall this Thursday, April 19th, to see a performance of the play Into the Woods.  Students will leave UE around 8:45 a.m. and return by 10:30 a.m. 

Market Day pick-up will be held in the school cafeteria next Monday, April 23rd, starting at 4:00 p.m.

Weekly News

April is a busy month here at school!  We have lots of activities, programs and events going on from now until the rest of the year...which is just around the corner!

We will have a behavior assembly today.  Any student who did not have an out during the third nine weeks will be recongnized during the assembly and given a behavior certificate.  

The Bookmobile will be here this Thursday.

This week is Right to Read week.  Our theme is "Join the Winning Team!"  Students are asked to read nightly and keep track of the books they read on a reading chart.  Students are asked to wear something special each day this week.  Below is our shedule:

Monday - wear baseball or softball clothes

Tuesday - wear football clothes or cheerleading uniforms

Wednesday - wear any sport clothes or  team colors

Thursday - wear your favorite team clothes

Friday - wear Lake Blue Streak clothes

We will have an assembly this Friday and crown a school king and queen of reading!

​Welcome back!  I hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break!

Students will not have school on Good Friday, April 6th.  Happy Easter!!

We are wrapping up our Economics unit this Thursday, April 5th, with a classroom store.  Students will be selling goods or services to first grade classrooms.  Students will need to bring in their materials for our store by this Thursday.  All the money earned will be donated to Relay for Life.  

Spring picture packages were sent home with your child today.  If you do not want the package, please return it as soon as possbile.  If you would like to purchase the package, please send in payment using the envelope provided in the package.  Thanks!

Weekly News

Lifetouch will be here tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20th, for spring pictures.  We will have our pictures taken in the morning before lunch and recess. 

Pinnacle reports will be sent home with your child this Friday, March 23rd.  If you have any questions about grades, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Spring Break starts next Monday, March 26th.  School will resume on Monday, April 2nd. 

We will have an Office Phil Safety assembly this Wednesday, March 21st.  

This week is the last week to turn in placement consideration forms for next year.  Forms will not be accepted after this Friday, March 23rd.

​Students will be going to the Scholastic Book Fair this Wednesday, March 14th.  Don't forget to send in money with your child if they are going to shop at the Book Fair.  Thanks!

The third nine weeks ends this Friday, March 16th.  Pinnacle reports will be sent home with your child next Friday, March 23rd.

Market Day pick-up will be held in the school cafeteria starting at 4:00 p.m. next Monday, March 19th.

Lifetouch will be here next Tuesday, March 20th, to take Spring pictures.

Weekly News

The PTO Spring Carnival is this Friday, March 9th, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. in our school building.  Admission is $5.00.  Come join the fun, play a variety of games and eat some wonderful food!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open this Friday, March 9th, during the Spring Carnival.  The Book Fair will be held in the school library.  Students will have the opportunity to shop at the Book Fair next week during their scheduled library times.  Our class will be shopping next Wednesday, March 14th, from 1:25 - 2:10 p.m.

​The PTO Yearbook sale ends this Friday, March 2nd.  If you would like to order a yearbook, please send in your order form and payment by this Friday.  Thanks!

PTO is sponsoring Popcorn Day this Friday, March 2nd.  Bags of popcorn will be sold for $0.50 each.  

Just a reminder that placement consideration forms for next year are due back to the office by Friday, March 23rd.  Forms will not be accpeted after that date.  If you would like a placement consideration form, please contact me and I will send one home with your child.  Thanks!
