2022/2023 COVID Policy

Lake Local School District is following the guidance released from the Ohio Department of Health on 8/12/2022.

  • If students or staff feel sick or suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test. If positive, students and staff should stay home from school for at least 5 days from symptom onset and longer if necessary, until fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and symptoms are improving. Please note the day of symptom onset is day zero, the next day is day one and so on.  Additionally, after isolation ends and they are back in school, students and staff should continue to take precautions as they resume normal activities by wearing a mask for 5 days (or after two negative tests 48 hours apart).
  • When a student athlete is positive and they return from isolation, masks are to be worn as much as possible (i.e. transportation; locker rooms; sitting/standing on the sidelines) but are not required to be worn during vigorous athletic activity. Mask wearing should continue through day 10 of symptom onset, or after two negative tests 48 hours apart.

If you have any questions, please call your child's school nurse for assistance.

The Stark County Health Department requests that individuals self-report positive results. Please see below how to do so.
