School Resource Officers

SCHOOL BUILDING SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER
Lake Primary School Deputy Jordan Carter
Lake Elementary School Deputy Tim Bowen
Lake Middle/High School Deputy Marissa Humbert
Lake Middle/High School Deputy Dave McKay

Deputies Carter, Bowen, Humbert, and McKay are the school resource officers (SROs) for Lake Local Schools. As they fill these valuable roles they are involved one-on-one with students every day, assisting with bus traffic in the mornings and afternoons, meeting and talking with students during lunch, or visiting classrooms to support curriculum in order to build student relationships.

Our deputies have also been guest speakers to freshmen students during mentoring classes, are part of the Lake High School CARE team, and support programming led by Lake Community Cares and Lake Leaders. In addition, they participate in health classes, educating students about the effects of drugs and alcohol as well as the ramifications of illegal drug use. They also are happy to answer students' questions.

Security plans are in place for each school building within the district, which are practiced through various drills during the school year.  Our SROs take part in each of these drills alongside local safety officials to ensure they are as efficient and safe for our students and staff as possible.

Anti Hazing/Bullying

Lake Local Schools are opposed to any form of bullying. When it occurs every step is taken to remedy the incident with involvement of the students, parents, and staff. Bullying can affect you in many ways. You may lose sleep or feel sick. You may want to skip school. You may even be thinking about suicide. If you are feeling hopeless or helpless or know someone that is, please call the LIFELINE at 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
