Lake Wall of Fame

The Lake Wall of Fame was established in 1992 by the Lake Local Board of Education. This Wall was created in order to recognize outstanding Lake Local Schools Alumni and their achievements.

To be considered for this recognition, nominees must meet the eligibility requirements as defined in the nomination application. Those selected for this honor will have a bronze plaque placed in the showcase in the main hallway of the Lake Community Center.

Dependent upon the submission of nominations, an attempt will be made to select a male and a female inductee every 5 years.

To qualify for induction, nominations must be received no later than November 1, 2022.

The next recognition ceremony will be held in the year 2022-2023. 

2015 Inductees

Rebecca Berg (1963 Lake high school graduate): Ms. Berg has enjoyed a celebrated international career as an operatic soprano/performer, and master class voice teacher and in 1991. During her career she preformed in numerous international events in many European countries, she also received an Alumnae Award from Baldwin-Wallace College in recognition of her various musical achievements.

Richard Burns (1947 graduate of Uniontown High School): Mr. Burns is a retired United Methodist minister who attended and studied at seminary with Martin Luther King Jr., served  several Ohio churches located in Sunbury, Seven Hills, Niles, and Euclid and supported an ecumenical fellowship between Protestant and Catholic churches. He has even received the opportunity of having an audience with Pope John Paul the 2nd.  

Alfred Grimm (1939 graduate of Hartville High School): Mr. Grimm is a retired Army Air Corps colonel who enlisted during World War II and served until 1971.  During his military career he flew 16 different aircraft on various missions ranging from the open cockpit P-19 trainer to the eight-engine B-52 Stratofortress bomber, logging more than 8,000 flying hours. Mr. Grimm also received numerous medals including the Air Force Legion of Merit award and the Air medal with six clusters.
